土用の丑の日 8/6 “Do yo no ushino hi”

Let’s eat eel (unagi/うなぎ) because today is “Do yo no ushi no hi”・土用の丑の日 meaning the “midsummer day of the ox” in Japan.

Why do we eat eel?  Because we want to regain energy and stamina by eating eel.

This eel in the photo above↑ is from Kagoshima prefecture.
